Warehouses, distribution centers, and storage facilities serve an important purpose in business and logistics industries. Power - all of the cameras and security equipment require power. Make sure there is an alternate power supply available in the event of an outage or vandalism.

Cabling - for close circuit television (CCTV) security systems, cables should be run from the cameras to the monitors to allow for real time observation. Cables should be run so that they are not easily cut and have minimal exposure to moisture or extreme weather conditions.

Shipping and receiving - because these areas are hubs of activity for your warehouse, it is important to have a surveillance camera operating at all times. The cameras can record daytime as well as nighttime activities.

Privacy - restrooms should not have cameras pointed in the stall areas but you can have a camera monitoring the doorway areas.

Waste disposal - to deter identity theft and other crimes you should consider having a camera to monitor waste areas such as trash compactors or dumpsters.

Parking lot - vehicles are often the subjects of crimes in warehouse districts because parking lots are not always thoroughly surveyed with cameras. Consider having cameras positioned to overlook parking areas to keep vehicles safer. This can be particularly important if you have delivery vehicles or other commercial vehicles in your lot.
